route in detail

From Barnet Hwy, skirt the bike skills park and follow Barnet Trail along a powerline, then forest path Hang Your Hat Trail (optional Elephant Ridge viewpoint). Drop on Cougar Trail, then climb steeply on the Trans Canada Trail to an info kiosk and follow it west about 2.8 km across ravines below SFU. Turn onto Pandora Trail and descend a long staircase of about 500 steps with a rope handrail back toward Barnet Hwy.

Watch for: Shared with fast mountain bikers; stay right. Very steep stair descent; use the handline. Many unsigned side trails.

good to know cam

Hi, I'm Cam Appleton. I love Vancouver and I love getting out on its trails. When I went looking for a simple, easy hiking guide for around here, I couldn't find one I liked. I also really like helping people, so I built this one.

My day job is real estate. I help people buy, sell and lease. I hope you're enjoying the start of Hike Vancouver. If you're thinking about living closer to trails like this one, I'm happy to talk.
