route in detail

From the Cypress Falls Park lot, climb briefly into forest, then take an old pipeline path along the bench above Cypress Creek to a view of Lower Falls; scramble up left to the main trail (don't cross the Lower Falls bridge yet). Climb about 30 minutes under old-growth fir, hemlock and cedar to a view below Upper Falls, then follow a fire road right across McCrady Bridge, down the service road past a substation to a Trail sign, and back through old growth to cross the bridge above Lower Falls and return down the west bank.

Watch for: Canyon edges are steep.

good to know cam

Hi, I'm Cam Appleton. I love Vancouver and I love getting out on its trails. When I went looking for a simple, easy hiking guide for around here, I couldn't find one I liked. I also really like helping people, so I built this one.

My day job is real estate. I help people buy, sell and lease. I hope you're enjoying the start of Hike Vancouver. If you're thinking about living closer to trails like this one, I'm happy to talk.
