route in detail

Cross First Lake's outlet after about 20 minutes, follow the south shore, then pick through a rougher, wetter area of small ponds before climbing to the rocky summit bluffs (about an hour), with views over the Seymour River valley to Lions Gate Bridge and Point Grey. Return the same way.

Watch for: Snow and ice linger; not worth trying before July. Cloud can roll in quickly. Do not follow the taped route left from the base of the bluff; it is hazardous.

Best season: Best July to October

good to know cam

Hi, I'm Cam Appleton. I love Vancouver and I love getting out on its trails. When I went looking for a simple, easy hiking guide for around here, I couldn't find one I liked. I also really like helping people, so I built this one.

My day job is real estate. I help people buy, sell and lease. I hope you're enjoying the start of Hike Vancouver. If you're thinking about living closer to trails like this one, I'm happy to talk.
