route in detail

From the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest headquarters in Maple Ridge, take the combined Red/Yellow/Blue trails west across the arboretum, then branch left on the Blue Trail through open forest to a clear-cut with views over the polder and Pitt River. Continue across Spring Creek and repeatedly across G Road, then north along Blaney Creek past M Road; an optional steep road climb (C30) leads to a viewpoint and shelter over the Fraser Valley and Golden Ears. Return via an unmarked path toward the river and the Green Trail past the old Mills Bridge site.

good to know cam

Hi, I'm Cam Appleton. I love Vancouver and I love getting out on its trails. When I went looking for a simple, easy hiking guide for around here, I couldn't find one I liked. I also really like helping people, so I built this one.

My day job is real estate. I help people buy, sell and lease. I hope you're enjoying the start of Hike Vancouver. If you're thinking about living closer to trails like this one, I'm happy to talk.
