route in detail

From the west end of Blundell Rd, walk north on the West Dyke with Sturgeon Bank marshes to the west. After about 1 km, cut inland through Terra Nova Natural Area, cross Westminster Hwy near the red barn, pass the community gardens and Parson House, then cross River Rd to the Middle Arm Trail by the Fraser with airport and seaplane views. Explore the Terra Nova Rural Area paths before returning down the dyke.

Watch for: Flat and exposed; dyke paths are shared with cyclists and joggers. Good winter choice.

good to know cam

Hi, I'm Cam Appleton. I love Vancouver and I love getting out on its trails. When I went looking for a simple, easy hiking guide for around here, I couldn't find one I liked. I also really like helping people, so I built this one.

My day job is real estate. I help people buy, sell and lease. I hope you're enjoying the start of Hike Vancouver. If you're thinking about living closer to trails like this one, I'm happy to talk.
